Numenta annouce a demo program, that access the NuPIC cluster to demonstrate the technology.

My first impression is that the technology is still at the beginning, maybe it's only the demonstration program and the cluster that were limited to simple images sent to them, but for now, we are far from the "Live face recognition program".

If I think of it from the HTM perspective, more people will use the demo program, better the algorythm will be, and more complex images should be available for submission.

Yes, I just bought a new 320gig harddrive, to install a complete distro of linux, to be able to run NuPIC.

I decide to choose de new Fedora Core 6 distribution. The only reason that I can give, it's because I use it since 2001, for networking "devices" such as Firewalls and DNS servers.

This distro is based on the Redhat original distribution. For me, it's a guaranty of quality, maybe I'm wrong, the future will tell me.

Yes, ok. But... why?
I decided to start this blog because I want to separate the NuPIC development (even if it's only tests to begin) from the rest of my day-to-day tasks. I am new to Linux development, and Python, the Toolkit language, to neuro-science, and AI in general. Because, yes, I'm a Microsoft developper all day, and the night, I want to push the HTM / NuPIC effort.

I started to be interested to this project, because for a long time, I think of a dependency of hierarchy between everything, and the impact on the rest of the world. I saw, like many others, the article publish on Slashdot taking about the new company of Jeff Hackins and his book, ON Intelligence.

The Hierarchical Temporal Memory was the answer to all my questions, and now, I just want to prove myself that this is the new way to go, and not only a flavor-of-the-year.

What to tell or not to tell. I am a developper who, since years, program, architecture, and work almost 65h/week on computers... yes, maybe too much. My interests are from Microsoft .NET framework, SOA Architectures and products integration to web marketing and design. This is my "new" interest, since is read "On Intelligence" by Jeff Hawkins in 2004. After that, I received an email announcing that the NuPIC platform was out, so I bought my 18th domain name, and build this small and open website. Hope you will enjoy it.
